About LawFirmSquare

LawFirmSquare is a need-first US law firm directory. Where most directories sort lawyers by legal practice area, LawFirmSquare sorts them by the situation that brought the user to a search engine — getting divorced, charged with a DUI, hurt at work, starting a company. The directory currently covers 100 US cities and 30 legal needs.

The company was launched in 2026 as a publishing project, not a law firm. It is not affiliated with any law firm and does not provide legal advice or representation. Revenue comes from premium firm listings, sponsored placements, and lead-generation packages sold to law firms — never from the consumer.

Story angles we can speak to

Legal-tech and access-to-justice reporters often look for SMEs on the following topics. We're happy to provide on-the-record commentary or background.

  • How consumer search behavior is reshaping legal services discovery (need-based queries vs. practice-area queries).
  • Pricing transparency in legal services — why hourly billing has been so resistant to consumer demand for clarity.
  • The economics of legal lead generation, including the $50-$500 range for a single qualified consumer legal lead.
  • How small and mid-size firms compete with BigLaw in consumer-facing practice areas.
  • State-bar advertising rules and what's changed in the last decade.
