We want everyone to be able to find a lawyer.

Our commitment

The legal system is hard enough to navigate. The website you use to find a lawyer should not make it harder. LawFirmSquare is committed to ensuring that this site is accessible to people with the widest possible range of abilities, including users of screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, screen magnifiers, voice control, and other assistive technologies.

Standard we target

We design and build LawFirmSquare to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. This is the standard referenced in most US accessibility regulations, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Title III and Section 508.

What we've done

  • Semantic HTML. Headings, lists, navigation, forms, and landmarks are marked up so screen readers can announce them correctly.
  • Keyboard navigation. Every interactive element on the site can be reached and activated using a keyboard alone, with visible focus indicators.
  • Color contrast. Text and interactive elements meet or exceed WCAG AA contrast ratios against the dark background.
  • Alt text. Photographs and illustrative images include descriptive alt text. Decorative images are marked aria-hidden.
  • Form labels. Every form field has a visible label associated with the input. Required fields are clearly marked.
  • Resizable text. Text resizes cleanly up to 200% without breaking layout.
  • Reduced motion. Reveal-on-scroll animations respect the user's reduced-motion preference where set.

What we're still working on

Accessibility is a continuous process, not a checkbox. Areas we are actively improving:

  • Caption coverage on any video content we add.
  • Skip-to-content links on every page (rolling out across the directory).
  • Plain-language audits of legal-need pages to lower required reading level.

Tell us if something doesn't work

If you encounter an accessibility barrier — a button you can't reach, a form that doesn't work with your screen reader, an image without alt text, anything — please tell us. Include the URL of the page, what you were trying to do, and what assistive technology you were using. We aim to acknowledge accessibility reports within two business days and to fix significant issues within 30 days where feasible.

If you need information from this site in an alternate format (large print, plain-text email, audio), contact us and we will make reasonable arrangements.

Third-party content

This site embeds some third-party content (fonts, social-media share icons, photographs from Unsplash). We have selected providers with strong accessibility practices but cannot guarantee third-party content meets the same standard as our first-party content.
